While you can choose your own fragrance for this homemade deodorant, you must include grapefruit oil and tea tree oil as they are essential to making the deodorant effective.
Bacteria and microbes thrive in a damp and dark environment, and they are the cause of the unpleasant smell of body odor. Grapefruit neutralizes bacteria and tea tree oil, like coconut oil, eliminates microbes, effectively destroying their ability to create that unpleasant smell. The combination of arrowroot powder and cornstarch helps the deodorant work as an antiperspirant.
Equipment:
Bowl Fork
Empty roll-on deodorant container
Ingredients:
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup arrowroot powder
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon grapefruit juice
3 drops of tea tree oil
1 teaspoon grapefruit juice
3 drops of tea tree oil
5drops of grapefruit oil
A combination of three other essential oils of your choice
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl, then add coconut oil. Use a fork to combine the coconut oil with the other ingredients. Add essential oils, then add juice slowly until you reach your desired consistency.
Pour into roll-on deodorant container. Keep in a cool place.
