'Natural' Products are not always safe

Many herbs have a long history of use and of claimed health benefits. An herb, or botanical, is a plant or part of a plant that is used for its scent, flavor, and/or therapeutic properties. Although they are scaled ‘natural’, herbal products are not necessarily safe or without harmful effects. They may come from plants, but many plants are considered harmful and poisonous. Unlike prescription medicines, herbal products are not tested to certify their safety and efficacy before their marketing. Active ingredients in many herbal medicines and supplements are still unknown. Some have been found contaminated with metals, unlabeled prescription drugs, microorganisms or other substances. Since herbal products are not tested, they may cause certain health problems/complications. It may not be wise to take herbal products if you have any of these medical problems/conditions:
• High blood pressure
• Thyroid problems
• Parkinson’s disease
• Blood-clotting problems
• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• Epilepsy
• Depression or psychiatric problems
• Liver problems
• Enlarged prostate gland
• Glaucoma
• History of stroke or organ transplant
Women who are pregnant or nursing should be especially cautious about using herbal products, as well  as with people who are about to have surgery. Always check with your health care provider.
It is likewise important to consult with your doctor before using herbal products if you are taking any medications (whether prescription or over-the-counter). Some herbal products are known to interact with medications in ways that may pose risks to your health.

Wisdom of Natural Skin Care

Natural skin care is the care of the skin (the largest organ of the body) using
naturally-derived ingredients (such as herbs, roots, essential oils and flowers).
Many people use natural skin care recipes to make remedies to care for their skin at  home. Many spas and skin care salons now focus on using more naturally derived skin care products. Essential fats are thought to keep your heart healthy, fight inflammation, and possibly prevent cancer. They are also particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne, and also for people with dry skin. Honey's natural antioxidant to absorb and retain moisture have been  recognized and used extensively in skin care treatments as they help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays and rejuvenate depleted skin.

Jojoba skin care is a natural remedy. Jojoba is a natural moisturizer for the skin. The oil is similar to the natural sebum of whale. Flaxseed and walnut oil - Use flax seed oil or walnut oil with balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing. Salmon is another good source; however these salmon accumulate toxic poly chlorinated  biphenyls in their body fat during the 95 percent of their lives they spend at sea. Regular body care is essential for good health and well-being. Vitamin B1 aids skin health by helping to keep the circulation normal. Vitamin B6 or pyridoxine deficiency can result in dermatitis or eczema. Niacin deficiency can also cause an eczema type of skin eruption with brown pigmentation, largely on the face, forearms and legs.

Diet plays an important role in maintaining the health of the skin. Anti-Aging is the  key that will keep us healthy, beautiful and vibrant. Mash one guava; stir it well with the mixture of oatmeal and lemon juice. Facial masks can also firm the skin,  which is usually used for aging skin. Skin lighteners such as licorice or hydroquinone are also placed in the mixture to give the face a lighter look. Facials  generally moisturize and hydrate the skin by using steam, masks, humectants and  hydrating creams. To cleanse, facials employ the extraction of blackheads, pimples and whiteheads using a facial clay mask. Peeling methods use the help of enzymes. Apply moisturizing, purifying face mask.

BEAURY EXFOLIATION

Exfoliation is most often achieved through either mechanical or chemical means.Exfoliation is the removal of the oldest dead skin cells that cling to the skin's outermost surface. Exfoliation is an important part of facials and body treatments. Exfoliating the skin cosmetically is the act of removing dead skin cells from the top layer of the epidermis. This is important for keeping the skin young looking and healthy. This is achieved through chemical peels, dermabrasion and  microdermabrasion. There are two type of exfoliation. Mechanical Exfoliation. Mechanical exfoliants include micro-bead facial scrubs, crushed almond shells, sugar or salt crystals, pumice, and abrasive cloths such as loofahs. The dead skin cells are physically rubbed off with an abrasive.

Chemical Exfoliation. Enzymes, alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) or betahydroxy acids  (BHAS) loosen the glue-like substance that holds the cells together, allowing them  to slough away. Facial peels are a form of chemical exfoliation. Natural facial  exfoliation products may contain mild clays, soothing colloidal oatmeal, soft fruit  seeds & powders, herbs and other non-abrasive ingredients. A natural exfoliating facial masque can be quite soothing for tender skin. Chemical exfoliants include scrubs containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid, fruit enzymes, citric acid, or malic acid  which may be applied in high concentrations by a dermatologist. Exfoliating  exposes the supple layer of smooth skin and promotes new cell regeneration.

When choosing a cleanser or scrub, take care not to over work/scrub your face. Do  not uses around the delicate eye area. A good multi-tasking exfoliating product for   the rest of the body is a sugar scrub, which can also be used for shaving your legs. Sugar Scrubs will not burn if you have any little nicks or cuts, as a salt scrub would. A natural scrub with an oil base not only exfoliates, but also conditions and  moisturizes the skin, which eliminates the need to apply moisturizer afterwards.   When choosing a natural sugar scrub, look for healthy ingredients including organic  sugar, cold pressed oils and essential oils. Men have hair all over, and hair traps oil, dirt and grime. For men, there are three major areas in need of regular exfoliation: face, back and chest.
